If you are thinking about the long term use of your new home there is help at hand. The UK Government has set up grant systems for the various types of renewable energy sources. Although you may not be

eligible for all of them it is certainly worth looking into.

UK Wide Grants

The Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (BERR) have a low carbon buildings programme which provides grants for Homeowners. There are grants available for microgeneration technologies including, solar photovoltaic, wind turbines, small scale hydro, solar water heating, heat pumps and bioenergy.
